Is your mouse wheel actually smooth?

Put the pointer inside the panel and scroll one notch at a time. The test records what the browser receives: wheel-event gaps, frame pacing and dropped frames. Nothing leaves this page.

What the numbers mean

Average gap is the time between wheel events the browser received. Max gap is the longest silence in the sample. Dropped frames counts animation frames that arrived more than 1.5× slower than the median frame. A smooth wheel at 120 Hz should show many small events; a notchy wheel shows fewer, larger jumps.

Your browser and operating system also shape input. If this page looks smooth but the same wheel feels rough in one specific app, the problem is likely that app’s scroll handling or another utility — not the mouse itself.

LumePane smooths mouse-wheel scrolling system-wide, with a per-app exclusion list and a ⌘ bypass. The browser can only measure itself; the app can reshape the wheel before the app sees it.
