Look at your display, not at a spec sheet.
Six test patterns for a Mac monitor: grayscale, colour bars, near-black, near-white, a 1-pixel grid and a uniform field. Use full screen and the display's native resolution.
Grayscale ramp: every step should be visible on a calibrated display.
What this can and cannot do. The browser can show reference steps, but it cannot read or change the panel's gamma, colour temperature or DDC/CI registers. A pattern that looks good on screen is not a calibration report. If banding, a colour cast or clipped blacks are visible here, the next step is a measured calibration in LumePane (gamma-table anchor + DDC/CI where available).
